Strudel REPL is an in-browser remixer, sound designer, and sequencer for music and sounds, based on a JavaScript port from Tidal Cycles.

I’m going to give a go to learning and using this platform to do those things. Electronic and digital music has always fascinated me and I think coding, or Live Coding, will give me better control than GUIs, since I have essential tremor, and sliders and knobs and the like don’t always work ideally for me. Also, I know JavaScript reasonably well, so it’s a matter of learning or expanding my understanding of music theory, and I even got a start on that in childhood.

We’ll see.

Anyhow, here’s my gitlab repo for the experiments I’ll start with (and possibly training projects too). Later I may make another for publishing actual sequences and tracks, but I’ll start small, of course.

This feels like a more interesting pursuit than just whiling away time with job applications and gaming.
